Top Gear as we know it is long-gone, but the guys over at Top Gear Magazine are still plugging away, helping to bring us some of the best automotive content on the web. For their February 2016 issue, the Brit-based magazine headed to America to test three of the country’s best performance cars: the Dodge Viper ACR, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R.
The magazine recently released a teaser for the three-way test on its YouTube channel. It features the three American heavyweights mentioned above taking off from a standstill in a rather smoky manner (especially Corvette) before going for a lap of what appears to be Willow Springs Raceway in California. We would have loved a little more footage of the three cars, but we’ll watch any footage of the Viper ACR we can find, no matter how brief.
We’d have to go out and buy the magazine to find out who won this triple test, but if we’re basing the victor solely off of the burnouts seen here, the ‘W’ has to go to Corvette. If the winner is based off of lap times (as it so often is) the Viper ACR would likely be the victor considering it just walloped the C7 Corvette Z06 and 911 GT3 RS in a Motor Trend triple test.
Check out the video above for a teaser of the triple test.
