Gas Monkey Garage, made famous by the Discovery TV show ‘Fast N’ Loud’, has sponsored the No. 33 ViperExchange.com Riley Motorsports’ Dodge Viper GT3-R for the 2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Richard Rawlings, founder of Gas Monkey Garage, travels around Texas on Fast N’ Loud and buys up forgotten classic cars to restore. With ViperExchange.com Racing being Lone Star State-based, the partnership between his company and the team was a no-brainer for both parties.
“We have been working very hard through the years to build the Viper Exchange brand as the No. 1 volume Viper dealer in the world and the home of Viper performance parts,” Viper Exchange founder and team racing drive Ben Keating said in a statement.
“The guys at Gas Monkey Garage have done an incredible job of creating a great brand and a culture that people want to be part of. We are both extremely connected with Dodge, we are both located in Texas and we are both heavily involved car people. I almost can’t believe it didn’t happen sooner.”
Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen, Marc Miller and Dominik Farnbacher will drive ViperExchange.com Racing’s No. 33 GTD Viper GT3-R at Daytona this weekend. Keating won the GTD class in the race last year, while Farnbacher was also apart of the winning GTD squad.
The Gas Monkey Garage sponsorship may also carry over into March for the 12 Hours of Sebring – just in time for the company to launch its new line of energy drinks.
