Fiat Chrysler has partnered with Paramount Pictures for a new Zoolander 2 ad campaign featuring Ben Stiller. The new campaign is FCA’s latest marketing movie tie-in and comes shortly after its Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 themed advertisements that ran in late-2015.
In the first Zoolander 2 themed ad, Ben Stiller (AKA Derek Zoolander), is seen driving a yellow 2016 Fiat 500X. After he’s caught by a speed camera and notices the flash, he reverses back and poses again for the camera, showing off his signature ‘Blue Steel’ expression.
The 60-second ad was first shown during Fiat’s press conference at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, however the public debut of the spot happened during last night’s Golden Globes. This week, a 30-second version will hit the small-screen and will air until Zoolander arrives in theatres on February 12th.
“Joining forces with Paramount Pictures and Zoolander 2 allows us to align the Fiat 500X with a pop culture moment through one of this year’s most anticipated films,” said FCA chief marketing officer Olivier François. “Having international fashion icon Derek Zoolander — who is known for his distinctive style and playful spirit — behind the wheel of the Fiat 500X provides exceptional relevance to the global message of the FIAT brand.”
