Fiat Chrysler has brought the Dodge brothers back for a new series of ads that will air during NFL broadcasts and also The Golden Globe Awards, Automotive News reports. The new ads, which first aired during NFL game day on January 3rd, play off of previous spots that also featured company founders Horace Elgin and John Dodge.
The first spot, an online-only ad called ‘Old Man Story’, plays off of the old adage that your grandpa or father “had to walk 5 miles to school uphill both ways.” The ad argues that the Dodge brothers never had to walk inconveniently far distances, because they just built a car instead.
The second ad is more in the spirit of the ‘Donuts’ commercial we’ve previously seen the Dodge brothers in. A farther is shown working in his front yard when a Dodge Challenger enters the driveway. He gives a look of frustration before his daughters kiss him on the cheek goodbye and get into the Challenger – occupied by who other than Horace Elgin and John. Text then shows reading “Every man’s favorite car…until it comes for his daughters.”
The third ad, which we featured on the website earlier this week, is entitled ‘Wolf Pack’. The ad shows off the entire dodge lineup as they travel in a proverbial “wolf pack,” led by the Viper ACR. The ad is meant to drive home the point that while all of Dodges cars are different, they each carry the same spirit of the brand.
