Rivalries between America’s Big Three domestic automakers are expectedly fierce. Ford, General Motors and Dodge are always trying to one-up eachother and with the release of the Viper ACR, Dodge has effectively trumped both of its competitors in regards to track-day toys.
Motor Trend recently stuck the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 up against the Dodge Viper ACR for an episode of their Head 2 Head web show. The test is slightly reminiscent of when the publication stuck the then-new Viper GTS up against the C6 Corvette ZR1 – a comparison the Viper lost, so can it redeem itself against the C7?
We’ve already seen first hand what the new Viper ACR can do. Not only did it beat a McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, it’s also faster around VIR than the C7 Z06 and holds production car lap records at 13 tracks in total. How do you think it will fare against the C7 in a Head 2 Head battle? We have a feeling you already know, but you’ll have to watch the test in the video above to find out for sure.
