The streets of San Diego filled with water this past week as torrential rain descended upon Southern California – leaving unsuspecting motorists stranded as the water rushed in.
Some motorists were able to drive through the standing water before their cars became bogged down, however other’s simply began floating away. That’s when Baja 1000 champion Elias Hanna jumped into action, using his lifted Jeep Wrangler to help push the stranded motorists car’s to safety.
Eventually a crowd of 100 plus people gathered outside Hanna’s place of employment, Off-Road Warehouse in Kearny Mesa, California, to watch him rescue his fellow San Diegans. The local NBC affiliate in San Diego jumped on the and even got some footage of the racer rescuing a car or two during the floods.
