Black Bear Road is a well-known trail in the Jeep community and is frequented by off-road enthusiasts each summer. On any given day numerous Jeep Wranglers, CJs and Cherokees can be spotted on the road, but can the little Renegade hang with the ‘real’ Jeeps that are popular in the off-roading community?
To find out, and to help introduce his friend to the world of “Jeeping,” Dirt Everyday’s Fred Williams took a Jeep Renegade TrailHawk to Black Bear and tested its off-road prowess. The Renegade’s a far cry from the crazy creations Williams normally drives on the web-show, but its capabilities might surprise you.
Apart from a minor hiccup involving a flat tire, the Renegade has little to no trouble on Black Bear and is deserving of its Jeep name, Williams says. So if you ever hear a Jeep owner say the Renegade isn’t a true Jeep, simply refer them to this episode of Dirt Everyday.
