The Dodge Viper, with its huge 640 horsepower 8.4-liter V10, could be described as the definition overkill. In this day and age of super-efficient turbocharged engines, you don’t need 8.4-liters of displacement and ten cylinders to make a lot of power, but Dodge, knowing the unique engine is what gives the Viper its personality, keeps it around anyways.
So if the Viper’s V10 is overkill, then what is it when you slap two turbochargers on it? We’re at a loss for words trying to describe it as anything other than a rear tire’s worst nightmare, and as you’ll see in the video above, tires have every right to be scared – very scared.
This twin-turbo Viper TA was built by RSI Racing Solutions in Plano, Texas, who are the self described “leaders,” in Dodge Viper tuning. They offer a range of twin turbo kits for Vipers of all model years, so our only question to them is “when can we expect to see a twin turbocharged 2016 ACR?”
