Fiat Chrysler Automobiles U.S. has filed an application to register “Pacifica” as a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Fiat Chrysler Authority has discovered.
The automaker’s November 3rd, 2015 application specifies that the mark will be used to name “automobiles”. It has been assigned serial number 86807872 by the USPTO.
The Fiat Chrysler Authority Take
Crossovers are hot, and that won’t change much any time soon. That being the case, we would not be surprised to see FCA release a new Chrysler-branded crossover in the near future to expand the brand’s small lineup of three models and use the Pacifica name for it, as it did years ago.
The only questions are, what size would a new, second-generation Chrysler Pacifica be, what platform would it sit on, and where would it be priced?
