In August, news emerged following Fiat Chrysler’s dealer meeting in Las Vegas that the automaker was planning a 300 horsepower, all-wheel drive version of its Dart compact car dubbed the Dart ‘GLH’. At the time it was unclear if the rumors had any merit, but with the debut of the Dart GLH concept at the 2015 SEMA Show, we’re beginning to think they do.
As you may recall, Dodge last year pulled the veil from the Viper ACR Concept at SEMA before debuting the production version to media the following year. It seems possible they could do the same with the Dart GLH, however we’d expect it to feature more than just the aesthetic mods the concept shown here does.
Dodge says the Dart GLH ‘looks ready to pounce’ with Pitch Black paint, a production front grille with a concept grille insert, a production front chin splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser and lightweight Mopar 18-inch wheels. Further enhancing the package is a Mopar aluminum hood, high-performance brake kit, and Mopar exhaust tips.
Inside, occupants will find the Dart GLH concept much more luxurious than standard versions of the compact thanks to Katzkin leather seats with red mesh inserts and red stitching and red door pulls. A Dodge sport steering wheel, Mopar pedal kit, Mopar shift knob and Mopar floor mats are also present.
Dodge makes no mention of the Dart GLH’s powertrain or performance, but maybe we’ll find out more about a potential production Dart GLH in the near future.
