The 2016 Jeep Renegade and 2016 Ram 3500 have taken top honors in their respective segments in the Hispanic Motor Press Awards, which were announced earlier this week at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. The awards were put in place to recognize new vehicles that offer the best value in the market for Hispanic families and are decided by a panel of 16 Hispanic automotive journalists.
The committee selected the Renegade as the best value-for-money compact SUV due to its best-in-class off-road capability and convenience. Jurors selected the Ram 3500 as the best heavy duty pickup due to its best-in-class 900 lb.-ft. of torque and good value for money in comparison to the its competitors.
“The committee had a very tough time selecting this year’s Autos de Hoy, (Autos of Today)” judge director Ricardo Rodriguez-Long said in a prepared statement. “Still, the on- and off-road driving dynamics of the Jeep Renegade and the best-in-class hauling capability of the Ram 3500 each stood out as a great vehicle option for Hispanic families in the United States.”
