The Texas Invitational is a standing-mile competition reserved for some of the fastest cars in the world. People show up with all sorts of things, from Toyota Supras to Nissan GT-Rs to Audi R8s. Most of these cars are tuned to produce four-digit power figures, so as you can imagine, things can get pretty wild at times.
One 2000HP twin-turbocharged Viper was racing a Nissan GT-R at the 2015 Texas Invitational when its rear wheels broke traction and the car went careening across the airfield. Normally this wouldn’t be such a big deal, however the car went careening right towards a spectator area, sending onlookers running for their lives.
Luckily the grass was able to slow the Viper to a stop before it came into contact with any spectators, but for a second there, this video had us crossing our fingers. Check it out just above.
