Just before former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson was fired from the gig for assaulting a producer, everyone’s favorite trio of motoring journalists were poised to pit the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and McLaren P1 against one another. We never got to see the film, but now, YouTube’s TheSupercarDriver has beat them to the punch.
TheSuperCar driver got in touch with English novelist Paul Bailey, who famously purchased the LaFerrari, 918 and P1 following their release. He agreed to let BTCC driver Mat Jackson hustle the cars around the Silverstone National Circuit with a VBox telemetry system on board and record the lap times, thereby letting the ever curious internet know which of these monstrous hybrid hypercars is truly the fastest.
We don’t want to ruin the result for you, so you’ll have to check out the video above for the result. We will say that we were a bit surprised by the outcome, but at the end of the day, all three of these cars are wonderful in their own right and will continue making their owners happy despite their ranking in this test.
