Fiat Chrysler’s Ram trucks brand is planning on bringing right-hand drive versions of its vehicles to Australia with the help of well-known Australian vehicle company Walkinshaw Group, CarsGuide reports.
Walkinshaw, well-known for creating the Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) performance division, along with independent distributor Ateco, will convert Ram trucks shipped from the U.S. to right hand drive. The first shipment of the trucks has already arrived and will be converted in the same factory where HSV builds its tuned versions of the Holden Commodore.
The vehicles are due in showrooms later this year, CarsGuide says, and will sell for $120,000 AUD ($86,622 USD). The first models will be the heavy-duty Ram 2500 and 3500 models, however there’s no word on if the light-duty Ram 1500 that’s so popular in its domestic market will be offered in Australia.
