Jeep fans can now take a virtual test drive in the Cherokee Trail Hawk thanks to new 360-degree video technology on Facebook. The tech was first launched through YouTube and has been utilized by different automakers, however Jeep is the first to bring it to Facebook.
The 360-degree videos were filmed a few weeks ago in Morocco using special video cameras that simultaneously record the images from various angles. Both inside and outside videos views are available, allowing users to to virtually experience the Cherokee TrailHawk test drive.
In addition to the Cherokee test drive, Jeep is also promoting its sponsorship of the World Surfing League by giving users the option to experience a 360-degree video from a surfboard. The rider can be seen riding waves through waters in Mexico and California and is the first 360 degree video filmed from a surfboard.
Check out the 360 degree videos over on Jeep’s Facebook page.
