The Dodge Charger Hellcat is absurdly fast, but no matter how much power a car comes with from the factory, the tuners will always attempt to wring even more performance from the engine. Hennessey Performance Engineering rose to fame by tuning the already quick Dodge Viper models, and have recently reverted back to tuning Dodges following the release of the infamous Hellcat.
As you may know, the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 under the hood of the Hellcat produces 707 horsepower. It didn’t take much for HPE to bump the output of the Hellcat motor to absolutely absurd levels, with a simple ECU tune, new software, a different air intake, a port matched throttle body and a ported supercharger housing bringing the car to 850 horsepower.
We know first hand how unhinged the Hellcat feels with 707 horsepower, so we simply cannot imagine how Hennessey’s tuned car feels when you lean on the throttle. We’re waiting on quarter-mile times and other performance specs from Hennessey, but in the mean time, check out the teaser video for the wild modern day muscle car just above.
