The Levante, first shown as the ‘Kubang’ concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, will arrive at Maserati dealers in March 2016. When it debuts, it will be available exclusively with V6 powerplants, offering a 275 horsepower 3.0-liter diesel (possibly for European markets only) and both 350 horsepower and 425 horsepower versions of Maserati’s 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6. A turbocharged V8 is expected to be added at a later date.
By 2018, Maserati will have added a plug-in hybrid model to the Levante’s lineup. An all-electric version is also said to be in the works, but it will be sold only in China and will be locally sourced.
The production version of the Levante is expected to make its official debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.
